In 1990 radio controlled watch was one of the show cases of science achievements. If you had it on your wrist it screamed “The future!”. Today it can be found in everyday price bracket and perception niche. Apart from Casio you have no watch to choose from. Casio however gives you some options. It is a time to meet Casio WVQ-140A , Casio's entry into world of radio controlled watches.I wanted to write about it because it is honest good watch with specialty skills. Back in year 2000 or Y2K, as it was popular to say that time, sun was brighter grass was greener and yes you guessed it… Matrix got Neo. We learned about Y2K bug which never came. .com bubble and many other fun things. Timex did not got it groove back and among other things was experimenting with form and movements. One of these trials I proudly wear on my wrist. In a way it very special watch. I don’t know exact model but as it goes with Timex, model number often lost with the sticker on the back of the watch. Citizen GN-09-5 on C240 movement It will sound repeated, but I find analog digital combo on a watch the best thing to wear. You get it, best of both worlds. Not many of these analog digital combo watches get to be truly quality ones. Citizen C240 dos not look like Breitling, yet has a lot of promise. Lest see it up close and personal and judge pros and cons of this watch. There is a type of watches, which could be timeless. This is a dress watch. Despite many definitions of dress watch existing in the minds there is no unity. In my eyes the Raymond Weil gold/white/black embodies the true formal dress watch. I not going to ask why you should have such watch ,rather what makes it a great watch. Tastes are obviously different, however formal event with tie can come with either suit or tuxedo. Think of the weeding, formal ceremony or something normal folks not going to attend very often. You wear black shoes, black tie, white shirt and cuffs. Also you wear this watch. There is A before B. Before Quartz watches were electric watches. For a brief period of time electric watches were cutting edge and than Seiko made it first true quartz watch. I going to describe Timex Q and what made it interesting addition to my collection as one letter which came before. I am a devoted supporter of quartz watch as a first choice when it come to simple question what to get. Quartz is reliable, stylish and worry free always on time. Also, it affordable unless you talking about some grand Swiss brands. Nature of this reliability grows out of simplicity of quartz moment. It can be 1 second a year with half moving parts of a mechanical watch. Resurgence of Swiss watchmaking owns to this simplicity and disposability embedded into cool, funky or stylish design.
